Farming for the Environment

We don’t irrigate – instead we grow diverse drought resilient pasture.

We’re farming to enhance nature.

All our water ways are fenced off and we are planning to do more riparian planting.

What we’re really farming is soil. We do all we can to protect and enhance our soil so it can grow healthy pasture.

We love farming with nature not against it. So we farm organically and biodynamically. We don’t use chemicals or synthetic fertiliser on the land.

Our stocking rate is about 1.3 cows to the hectare. Most farms are 3-4 cows/ha. This means that there is less density of urine and manure going onto the land reducing the risk of Nitrogen getting into groundwater
